Wallenius Lines is an investor and active owner within the global shipping industry, specifically in the international car and Ro-Ro segment, which has become a trademark for Wallenius. In the 1960’s, Wallenius pioneered the RoRo concept, first on the North atlantic trade, later as the first independent shipping line to work with Japan's automobile manufacturing industry.  With a strong focus on innovation, Wallenius Lines continued to develop the car transportation concept with both vessel design projects and logistic solutions.

Today, some of the world’s largest car and RoRo networks are included in the investment portfolio. Together with on of the world’s largest shipping company, the Japanese NYK, Wallenius Lines owns 50% of the short-sea shipping line United European Car Carrier, UECC. Since April 2017, Wallenius Lines along with Wilh. Wilhelmsen Holding ASA is the majority shareholder in Wallenius Wilhelmsen ASA, listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

Wallenius Marine offers a complete and sustainable shipping service – from innovative design and newbuilding to ship management. The company has an integrated way of working, where operational feedback is being used to optimize the design and enhance performance, which is transferred into the next generation of vessels. Since the mid-90s, more than 70 car carriers have been designed by Wallenius Marine’s naval architects and built at ship yards in Japan, Korea and China.  

Some 1,100 employees are connected to Wallenius Marine’s offices in Sweden, Singapore, Myanmar and the Philippines.
